The brief

In a small business, day-to-day bookkeeping is scattered: e-invoices live in one provider’s slow, click-heavy interface, incoming invoices in another provider, and receipts and expenses on paper or in a spreadsheet. At the end of the month the accountant asks where the receipts are and how much VAT is due. We built BiFatura to pull all of this into one panel. Invoices are drafted locally and issued officially through Bimasraf; documents from Bimasraf and Nilvera appear in a single list. Customer statements, payments, expenses, till receipts, the monthly VAT report and a cash plan sit side by side. The panel runs on your own server with your own PostgreSQL database. A public demo is available; the product is in development.

Approach

Three decisions that shaped the project.

  1. 01

The data stays with the business

The panel writes everything to its own PostgreSQL database; Bimasraf and Nilvera are only the source of official documents. If a provider is unreachable, records, reports and the assistant keep working.

  2. 02

    Nothing is booked without approval

The in-panel assistant and the Telegram bot share the same logic: type “bought fuel for 450 TL yesterday” or send a receipt photo and a draft is prepared, but it is only booked once you approve it.

  3. 03

    No double entries for money

Invoice, expense, payment, sending and cancellation endpoints are protected by idempotency keys. An invoice that arrives from both providers is counted once for VAT; possible duplicate expenses are flagged, never deleted automatically.
