The brief

A day in a motorcycle workshop moves between work orders, customers asking for tyre prices, parts on the shelf, cash in the till and the book of customers paying later. For MotoProf’s service side we built a workshop management system that brings all of this into one panel. When a technician opens a work order, they add parts from stock, tyres from the tyre module and preset labour items; once the job is done, the order goes into the till with one click and prints as an A4 job sheet or pro forma. A vehicle’s service history by number plate, the day’s appointments and outstanding credit are all tracked in the same place. The panel is not public; the screenshots come from a local copy populated with fictional customers and vehicles.

Approach

Three decisions that shaped the project.

  1. 01

No more looking up prices by hand

The tyre module regularly pulls supplier prices by motorcycle make and model, adds the margin set in the settings and shows a ready selling price. The supplier’s parts catalogue is kept current the same way.

  2. 02

Work orders, stock and till connected

Parts are added to a work order from stock and labour from a preset list. Completed orders are booked into the till with their payment method; unpaid amounts collect in a separate credit tab and shrink as partial payments come in.

  3. 03

    Fast at the counter

Stock intake and counts can be done by scanning barcodes with a phone camera, and hundreds of items can be imported from Excel at once. For parts bought in yuan, the current CNY/TRY rate is filled in automatically. The interface works comfortably on a phone.
